It could be because of all the amish people.

They make quality furniture... most of the time.

In fact, I wonder what it would be like to confront an amish person and just say, "Wow, I expected more from you."

I wonder how much of an outcast you would be if, as an amish one, you didn't have the ability to make decent furniture. I wonder if those are the ones they send off into the world, to "test" their faith.

They're like, umm, why don't you try living in sin for a bit. And behind their backs as the amish one is leaving, they're like, "maybe he won't come back." And another one is like, "we can only hope. His cabinet's are embarrassing."

also, read about the practice of "shunning" in the Amish community, a little weird.
